Just hours after my last post I started my search for Initial D cards, it didn't take me long to find some in a small online shop that does a lot of third party Amazon sales. They had starter packs, which contain 55 cards along with all the rules and a 'shiney' for just £2! Two Pound British Stirling! Listed as reduced to clear I snatched up absolutely loads, but the next day I got an email from a chap named Dave telling me that they had gone missing! An absolute loss, a truly tragic disappointment, and now after getting so excited about receiving so many of them so cheaply and conveniently I can't summon the motivation to start my search again.
The money instead went into Chessmaster Live, downloaded from the Xbox Marketplace. Chess itself is of course an excellent game, with the pretty visuals, plentiful game modes and numerous timing methods and limits I have so far found it highly enjoyable. I was defeated rather resoundingly on my first online game, but won the second which got brilliantly intense and exciting towards the end.
I spent an absurd amount of time on the 360 today, I didn't have to go to work as it was too windy (fingers crossed for similar weather tomorrow), so I instead went to Bertie's with Andrew with the 'boxes in tow. Call of Duty was the order of the day, and things got quite tactical and strategic as we entered the six player matches.
I've only recently got home, unexpectedly sacrificing my entire day to a killfest with my mates, not that I'm complaining as it was a great laugh hanging out. The only bad thing is that I was going to pop by Nicola's place on the way home from work -or in this case Bertie's- to say hi for five minutes, but she texted me telling me that she was too ill to even do that, which worries me for more than one reason.
Now that I am home I have seen that the torrents for Monaco are now up, which I shall watch tomorrow to get myself completely in the racing mood, as this Saturday I am attending a Fiesta track day with Dave and Alex, two long time friends of my brother that own a legit track car. I had to stop by Harry's place on the way back from Bertie's to pick up his crash helmet, which he graciously allowed me to borrow. I truly can't wait, it is going to be a severely awesome event.
